Any Video Splitter App Reviews
There is a slight learning curve to this app but I use it daily and I love it. difinitly worth the money. when youre video already looks great and you just want to split it up fast, this is the app for you!!!
In short: great app for simple cutting down of video files into chunks because it can do it without encoding. Maybe not going to be everyone’s favorite because it is not very flashy and lacks some more advanced features other video editing software may have, but I was more than willing to shell out $5 for all the hours I saved using this one. I read a lot of reviews on other applications, and I was scared away by some of the negative reviews. I decided to take my chances on this app that had no reviews posted. I needed to split up .dv files that were up to 47.1 GB down to less than 4 GB so they would fit on a FAT32 formated external hard drive. This would have taken me hours if I had to find the “best” breaks in the video and then reencode the videos. Once I embraced the simplicity of Any Video Splitter I was done in minutes thanks to their no encode workflow. That being said, I was not able to fine tune my clip endings to the millisecond. This may be because my source files were just too large. Everytime I pressed the up or down arrow on the left it would jump about 4 hundredths of a second. The right arrows jump at 1 second intervals, and you can quickly drag and drop pins to rough cut it and it scrubs the video in realtime while you do this. To be fair if you want to have more precision there is an option to convert the file to MP4 first (that I did not try because I wanted to avoid lengthy encoding times). TIP: add all of your needed segments BEFORE fine tuning their locations (in my longest video this was about 44 segments or about 5 min each). Adding a segment after fine tuning reset all of my locations and redistributed them evenly. Note the segment durations at the bottom as a guide for how long your clips are.
I needed a quick way to split a movie into various segments. This little app did the job! I couldn’t figure out how to use imovie, nor some other programs, but this one is plain simple to use.
Very nicely done
Doubt it could be any easier, quicker, or more useful. Well done!
Wanted to move 1 hr video from Mac to PC. File too large to go the USB/FAT option & wireless connection kept stalling. Tried using ethernet cord and all I accomplished was messing up my network settings. Found this little program for $4.99. It did not work so I contacted their web site & got an instant reply. The problem was my file. It had a title track in addition to the video and audio. Once he showed me how to mux the file and remove the title track the video splitter program worked fine. Great value for $4.99 & super customer service!
Doesn’t work
It’s awful. I tried to upload a video onto it in which is crashed every time. I really don’t like this app. Worst app ever!!!
This may have been the best $5 I have spent in the App Store! This simple program is designed to split longer videos into smaller more manageable ones, useful for example on converted old 8 mm camcorder videos. Any Video Splitter is intuitive and simple to use, and it works! The following may be the ultimate praise for this app: it does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it in a way that is simple to understand and execute. It is actually better than advertised, how is that for unusual? Great app, I recommend it totally!
Can say this was the best $5 I spent in a while. The application is quick and simple. I needed to cut some video files into smaller sizes, and this did exactly that. I have a lot of go pro video files that are 5 to 10 minutes long, and eating up my drive. I was able to quickly cut these files into much more managable sizes and get rid of the areas of the video I did not need. Interface could not be more simple. Only wish I have is to be able to scrub through the video in real time to place my markers.
Needed to split some videos to fit them on a FAT32 flash drive (files have to be under 4 gigs each). This program split the videos very quickly. No loss of quality or re-encoding needed.
Save Your Money
I can play AVI's and MOV's in QuickTime but any attempt to open the same files in this application results in "Input doesn't contain a valid video track!" Really? I guess QT just makes up a video. Please give me money back!
Too complicated. Not intuitive.
For my purpose I just want to find the section of a video that I want to excerpt and keep. Then I want to bracket and select it. Then I want to rename it and export it. Takes too long to figure out how to accomplish this so I gave up and searched for another app that was easier to use.
Doesn’t export metadata, like date, GPS tag, etc
It would be perfect except for one major and gaping flaw. It doesn’t export the metadata from the original clip. This would be particuarly useful for dates. In this day and age, most photo organizers, especially for iOS and macOS depend on correct dates. Please add this ASAp
Waste of MONEY
The worst spent i’ve ever made in iMac apps. The app is not filxable, you can’t split by seconds, only by minutes, or number of spits. I searched again and found a $0.99 app which is really really great and give you all what you need in video splitting.
Doesn’t work
Sadly, it doesn’t work for me. I need to split MTS and AVI files. When splitting MTS files, everything looks great, but the files it creates are empty. It split a 45mb MTS file split in two 6kb files with no data. It splits AVI files into functional video files, but the combined size of the splits is much smaller than the original file, so I assume there is data lost. Bummer.
Great Simple App!
I was very impressed that it did exactly what it was suppose to (which somtimes with apps on the AppStore- you never know). I was surprised it kept the same format, and file name of my orginal video file, but added _1, _2,_3 etc to the file name where I cut my video. It was very quick to cut the video and keep my orgianl.
This app does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it’s worth the money
I’m not sure why there are bad reviews for this app. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It’s easy to use, precies, and fast! My exports were perfect, and using the app was a breeze. I don’t often leave reviews, but I wanted to suggest to give it my endorcement! As of January 2017 this app is working, and well priced.
Doesn’t Work.
Tried to split a .dv video in two, and it resulted in 2 files - both zero kb = empty. Waste of money. Realized too late this app hasn’t been updated since 2015.
Perfect, except for one thing! No audio!
Unless I have missed that feature somewhere on the application, this software is doomed. lol With out hearing the sound it can’t be used to split video accurately. If this feature exists please let me know and I will give the app 5 stars, if not I will definitely bring it down to 1. I hope it becomes a 5.
Does Not Work - Complete Waste of Money
This program does not work. Makes me wonder how real the five star reviews are for this non-functional application. I tried to split a video, and all it gave me was a series of 32 bytes of files that could not be played. How does one get a refund?
Once you figure it out
